Speech Therapist doing paperwork
  • First, please refer to our Practice Areas page for information on developmental milestones and age expectations. Next, contact your child’s primary care physician to request hearing and vision screenings to rule out any concerns that may impact their ability to hear or see communication effectively. Finally, reach out to a licensed Speech-Language Pathologist to complete a comprehensive speech and language evaluation

  • Please reach out to Butterfly Speech Therapy to inquire about insurance and superbill options.

  • Every child’s needs are unique and influenced by their age, diagnosis, goals, and individual response to treatment. Therapy goals are developed collaboratively and include both short- and long-term objectives tailored to the child’s specific needs. Progress is regularly monitored and reviewed throughout the course of speech therapy. There is no “one-size-fits-all” approach to speech therapy.

  • Please refer to the How We work page for more detailed information.

  • We offer services Monday-Thursday, 9:30 to 5pm.

  • We believe working as a team is crucial for the best treatment for my clients. As a team, that includes the individual, the caregiver/parents, and any other professionals they are receiving intervention from (e.g., occupational therapists, doctors, teachers, etc). We offer collaboration through email or phone, as well as co-treatment sessions if we feel it is best for that specific individual. Additionally, we offer our support in IEP meetings or meetings alike to give insight into what we feel professionally is best for the individual.

  • As clinicians, we will also provide parent training to incorporate ways to elicit speech and language at home and/or in the community. There are also recommendations on the Resources page to help elicit language for younger individuals through play.

  • Please refer to the Resources tab for access to 5 Nursery rhyme videos incorporating various modes of communication.

  • Research shows that learning 2 languages does NOT cause a language delay. In fact, we highly recommend individuals to learn multiple languages especially if the individual's family speaks another language.

  • Participation during speech therapy sessions varies depending on the setting, the child’s age, and individual therapy goals. For younger children receiving services in the home, caregiver participation is often recommended. However, if a child demonstrates greater engagement or independence without a caregiver present, parents may be asked to step out during the session and rejoin at the end for a summary of activities and progress.

For teletherapy sessions, caregiver presence is typically only required if the child has difficulty maintaining attention or engagement with the screen or session structure.

Our goal is to provide the most effective, individualized treatment for each client, and session structure—including parent involvement and training—will be thoughtfully tailored to meet the unique needs of every child.
